Upland: Norma R. Rhoten, 79, passed away Thursday at 4:47p.m.at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hartford City the daughter of the late James and Leona (Hall) Jones. She attended Jefferson Township High School. Mrs. Rhoten retired in 1992 after many years with the Northern Indiana Medical Services, Marion. She faithfully attended the former Upland Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for many years. Survivors include two sons, Everett Rhoten, Steve Rhoten, both Upland; a daughter, Darlene Zak, Upland; a brother, Alvin Jones, Marion; two sisters, Mary Besser, Hartford City, Myrtle Peterson, Sims; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Rhoten. Memorials may be made to the family through the funeral home.
