Matthews: Ruthanna Lawvere, 92, passed away Sunday morning at 1:52 a.m. at the University Nursing Center, Upland. She was born in Matthews the daughter of the late Marcus J. and Eva B. (Reeve) Kirkwood. She was a 1934 graduate of Matthews High School. She married Ted Lawvere in Edinburg on June 11, 1938. He preceded her in death May 21, 1995. Mrs. Lawvere was formerly employed with Tuttle Cabinetry and Poor Richards Cabinet Shop. She was a member of the First Community Church, and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Bob) Ruddick, Lake St. Louis, MO, Kay (Ben) Parker, Matthews; two grand daughters, Trisha (Dennis) Hackman, Julie (Randy) Stern; and 5 great grandchildren, Jackson, Maddie, Taylor, Gabe, and Lola.
