Obituary
Ralph E. Spence, age 87, of Overland Park, KS, (formerly of Fairmount) died Friday, February 18, 2011, at Kansas City Hospice Home in Kansas City, MO. He retired in 1988 from General Motors after 32 years as a tool die maker. Ralph was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 313, VFW, and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed dancing and big band music with his wife Jane.
Ralph was the son of the late Tony Ralph Spence and the late Gertrude (Holloway) Spence. He was born in Fowlerton, Indiana on December 5, 1923. Ralph was a Fairmount High School Graduate and went on to serve his county in the Army during WWII. He married Jane A. Siegel on August 10, 1943 in Austin, Texas. Jane preceded him in death on June 2, 2005.

Ralph was preceded in death by his son Jere Spence in November 2009.
Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN Funeral service will be at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2011, Rev. Diana Siegel officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN Friends may visit the funeral home from 12 Noon unil service time at 2 PM.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the ALS Association in care of the funeral home.
